PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi supported the team's coach Christophe Galtier after the 3-0 victory over Marseille in the French league match on Matchday 25.
The Parisians were under tremendous pressure after three consecutive defeats, including a 0-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 and a 1-2 loss to Marseille in the French Cup. There were even suggestions that Al-Khelaifi was considering changing the team's coach. Among the candidates was former Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard.
"I've always trusted my coach because I know what he can do. After the World Cup, it was a difficult period for everyone, and especially for us, because we had a lot of players involved in this competition. However, this is no excuse. Now we have regained our position," L'Equipe quoted the PSG president as saying.
