On Wednesday, March 1, 19-year-old defensive midfielder Reshat Ramadani joined Dynamo Kyiv.
The future Dynamo player was born on June 30, 2003, in Tetovo, a town in northwestern North Macedonia. Ramadani's development as a footballer, as well as his first steps in adult football, are also associated with this town. In the local "Shkendija" Reshat went through various stages of the Academy, later rose to the youth team, and from January 1, 2022 played in the first team.
He has 22 matches (12 in the first team) and 1 goal in the main team of the previous club in the North Macedonian Championship. In the European Cups, Ramadani took the field 5 times, and three times - from the first minutes.
On February 6 this year, he played against Dynamo Kyiv at a Turkish training camp. In that match, the White and Blues won a narrow victory thanks to a goal by Justin Lonewake.
The footballer was called up to the North Macedonia national team of different age categories, including U-19 and U-20. Last fall, he was called up to the U-21 team, where he played three matches as a central defender.
As mentioned above, Ramadani mostly plays as a holding midfielder. However, he made his first football steps as a central defender.
"I used to play center back, now I can play both defense and midfield. However, the most comfortable and best position for me is a holding midfielder," Ramadani said in his first interview after joining Dynamo.
Ramadani chose to wear the number 92 shirt at Dynamo. "It's because of the fans of my former club, Shkendia. 92 is the year the Shkendia fan movement was founded. I'm dedicating this number to them," the 19-year-old footballer admitted.
Reshat is the second representative of North Macedonia in our club's first team after left back Goran Popov, who played for the White and Blues in 2010-2012.
