The movie "The Game of the Unbreakable" about Ukrainian football during the war has been released (VIDEO)

"The Game of the Unbreakable is a documentary about a year of Ukrainian football during the war.

The life stories of the characters reveal in detail the struggle for the existence of their favorite game. The plot of the film clearly illustrates how Ukrainian football not only survived and endured, but also began to strive for new goals and achievements - from the resumption of club competitions at all levels to the submission of a joint application with Spain and Portugal to host the 2030 World Cup.

Thus, in the film, the players of the Ukrainian national team share their own drama that the team experienced during 2022. The memories are complemented by stories from the locker room from Taras Stepanenko. However, it is not easy for the captain of the blue and yellows, Andrii Yarmolenko, to recall the bombings that his native Chernihiv region suffered from, and for Oleksandr Karavayev to remember the period when his parents were under occupation in his native Kherson.

Dmytro Kubriak has his own life story. He is a football referee who selflessly saved the lives of Ukrainian soldiers in Mariupol, having survived the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works and Azovstal, and later captivity in the Olenivka colony. His colleague Iryna Petrova also showed courage and was imprisoned after anti-Russian rallies in occupied Nova Kakhovka. After their release, both referees continue to serve the good of football. So does our other referee Kateryna Monzul, who was honored to represent our judiciary on the international stage during the year of full-scale war. The Ukrainian worked at the European Women's Championship, where she was entrusted with refereeing the tournament final.

The UAF First Vice President Oleksiy Mykhailychenko and Vice President Vasyl Orletsky had a fruitful year, working on the evacuation of Dynamo and Shakhtar legionnaires, as well as attracting international humanitarian aid for war victims and the military.

In 2022, two heads of regional associations combined football activities with military affairs. In particular, Taras Yuryk from Ternopil region volunteered to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Viktor Kovalenko began to defend the borders of Kharkiv region as the head of the district military administration.

And the real proof of the indomitable nature of our football was Ukraine's bid to become a co-host of the 2030 World Cup.
