The International Football Federation (FIFA) may make another high-profile decision regarding legionnaires who have contracts with clubs from Ukraine.
According to Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola in his column, FIFA is considering granting the requests of several players who have contracts with Ukrainian clubs to terminate them unilaterally, given the lack of any prospects for ending the war with Russia.
As a reminder, after the start of the full-scale phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war, FIFA allowed legionnaires to sign temporary contracts with clubs from abroad without the consent of Ukrainian clubs. Initially, this rule applied until the end of the 2021/2022 season, and then it was extended for the entire 2022/2023 season.
