The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has ranked the best coaches in the history of football.
IFFHS holds annual worldwide voting to determine the best coach. The IFFHS took into account the top 20 of each annual ranking since 1996 and distributed the points as follows: the first place received 20 points, the second 19 points, the third 18 points... and 1 point for the twentieth place. If a coach's annual rating fell below 20th place, no points were awarded.
Thus, the best coach in history according to the IFFHS was the former Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson, who scored 257 points.
