Ukrainian forward of the Bulgarian club CSKA 1948 Yevgeny Serdyuk is waiting for a call-up to the Ukrainian national team.
Eugene Serdyuk- You show good results, and the Ukraine national team has problems with the forward, where there is almost no one behind Dovbik, Yaremchuk is not happy with goals now. Tell me honestly, are you waiting for a call up to the main team of the country?
- I am very much looking forward to it. I really want to help Ukraine in this difficult period our country is going through and finally prove that I am not an empty place, and I should be taken into account. I feel pity that I work on myself, I progress, score, but they turn a blind eye to me. There is not much competition in the national team, but other people are still being called up. I do not know Dovbik personally, but judging by his game, I could easily compete with him and even come out the winner. I have only these goals in front of me.
- Maybe the problem is that you play in Bulgaria, and this country's championship is not followed much?
- Ludogorets always plays in European competitions, there is a lot of internationals, and we play on equal terms with them. So I do not see a problem. Bulgarian championship is of a good level, constantly growing. If a person shows the level, why not give him a chance and call up the National team, at least to watch? I have no logical answer to this question. I`m not talking only about me. For example, Petriak tried and tried, but they put him on the bench and did not give him a chance. And time passes, a soccer player`s career ends quickly.
- Which of the world's top forwards are you like in terms of style of play?
- I haven't equated myself to anyone, but at Black Sea and CSKA 1948 they say that my style of play is similar to Karim Benzema's. I can beat and play as a forward and ram, so I'm a versatile player. I can also play not only at the tip, but also on the right, left and under the striker. I started to play as a winger, so I can play on four positions. I can say that I am Zinchenko 2.0. (laughs).
- Who, in your opinion, is Ukraine's number one forward at the moment?
- There is one guy who plays in Bulgaria for CSKA 1948. His last name is Serdyuk. (laughs).
