Tajikistan Football Federation spokesman Faridun Saliev said the russian national team will participate in the first Central Asian Football Association championship in the summer.

"The Russian national team will take part in the first championship of the Central Asian Football Association with the participation of men's national teams, which will be held from June 9 to 21 this year," local media quoted Saliev as saying.

Soccer associations of Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan have confirmed their participation in the tournament.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia could join the Asian Football Confederation.
