As expected, Ukraine is excluded from a joint bid with Spain and Portugal to host the finals of the World Cup 2030, reports SkySports.
According to the source, the place of Ukraine in the bid will take Morocco.
Earlier, the media had reported that two factors led to the exclusion of Ukraine. First: the doubts of Spain and Portugal that, given the course of the war, Ukraine will have time to recover to the level needed for the country to hold the World Cup until 2030. The second: the uncertainty with the future of the UAF, given the fact that the organization's president Andrey Pavelko is under investigation for several corruption cases.
Recall that the place of the final part of the World Cup 2030 will be determined in 2024. It is expected that in addition to the joint bid of Ukraine, Spain and Portugal, FIFA will receive two more bids (also joint) to host the World Cup: the first - from Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and Chile, and the second - from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Greece.
