The head coach of the youth national team of Ukraine U-17 Yuriy Moroz revealed the reasons for the failure of our team in the elite qualifying round of Euro-2023.

- Everyone is upset. After the first match with Cyprus, the mood was good, but the second match against Ireland let us down. We played very poorly in defense.
- Was the match against Ireland the key one?
- Mistakes in defense in the 4th and 12th minutes crippled us. This is not what I expected to see from my players, they brought goals to themselves. We rebuilt, started playing with two strikers, but as a result we missed a counterattack, and it was all over. However, even after this meeting, we had a chance to leave the group...
- In the matches against Ireland and Italy, the Blue and Yellows failed to score. Were the opponents so strong, or did we lack skill?
- These are strong opponents. I said before the tournament that each country has learned to play football. In attack, the Irish and Italians were stronger, and in defense, we made simple mistakes, the players in this area did not please, so the result is obvious. But let's not sprinkle our heads with ashes, there is a lot of work ahead.
