Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher criticized Trent Alexander-Arnold after Real Madrid's Champions League exit.
"Trent's performance is worrying. This cannot continue, given how this season is going and how many times he has lacked skills in defense. The problem is that Arnold has never had any real competition for the position. I think it's time for Liverpool to think about buying a new right-back.
When Liverpool started to slump and they were no longer one of the best teams in Europe, there was a need to defend more. During this period, we saw Trent's problems. His strong qualities faded into the background. This problem may increase when Klopp leaves and Liverpool goes back to where it was when I was a player. Usually, our goal was to get into the top 4. However, if Liverpool want to play in the Champions League every year, I'm not sure Trent is the right man for the job," Sky Sports quoted Carragher as saying.
