The start of the match was postponed for half an hour due to the fact that an air alert had been declared in Kyiv and the region in the morning. So both teams had to wait in the shelter to warm up and prepare for the game.
The first-round match ended with a 6-1 victory for the White and Blues, but this time the same easy game was not expected for Ihor Kostiuk's team, as Zorya's youngsters have gained experience and are confidently holding on to the middle of the standings.
And these predictions were confirmed in the debut of the match. Ponomarenko advanced with the ball in the center to the penalty area and was brought down by Balaba on its edge. Kysil took the free kick and put the ball exactly into the back of Ihnatenko's net - 0: 1.
The "White and Blues" quickly won back. Horbach managed a great shot from a distance: the Dynamo striker sent the ball into the net in transit from the crossbar, and even Surkis's desperate jump did not help - 1: 1.
Horbach did not want to stop with just one goal. In one episode, Ihor ran away from the center of the field one-on-one with Surkis, but failed to beat the Luhansk goalkeeper. Also, after a corner kick, Slesar failed to hit the goal properly with a header from outside the goalkeeper's area, and shortly before the break, Kremchanin, closing the canopy from the left flank, missed the frame.
As soon as the second half began, Dynamo took the lead. Zorya defender Rudenko brought down Kremchanin in his own penalty area, and the victim confidently converted the penalty, putting the goalkeeper and the ball in different corners - 2-1.
Ihor Kostiuk's team managed to consolidate their advantage in the 60th minute. Kremchanin took a free kick from the left flank, the goalkeeper did not reach the ball, and Horbach literally hit the already empty goal from a meter away - 3: 1.
And the hosts brought the score to the big score in the 66th minute. The "white and blues" attacked on the left flank, Kremchanin found Benedyuk in the penalty area with a pass, and the captain shot to the goalkeeper's line, where Slesar touched the ball into the goal - 4: 1.
Dynamo did not stop, and scored in the 83rd minute. After cutting off the opponent in the center of the field, Dynamo organized a quick approach to the goal, the goalkeeper parried Horbach's shot, but Zorenko was the first to pick it up. Yuriy failed to score because of the goalkeeper's opposition, who tried to prevent him to the last, but the ball bounced to Malysh, who scored on an almost empty net - 5:1.
Shortly before the final whistle, the visitors had a good chance to reduce the deficit, but Ihnatenko parried a shot by Bilyi, who was closing in from close range on a shot from the right flank.
As a result, Dynamo's youth team defeated Zorya for the second time this season with a big score and moved into second place in the standings.
