A well-known soccer functionary and former president of Borispol "Borispol" Igor Kovalevich commented on the defeat of Kyiv "Dynamo" from Luhansk "Zoria" (0:1) in today's match of the 18th round of Ukrainian championship.

Perhaps I'm spoilt by quality soccer, which I grew up with, which gave all of us great pleasure and pleasure, pride and glory. And this applies not only to Dynamo Kyiv itself, but also to other Ukrainian clubs such as Dnipro, Shakhtar, Chernomorets, Metalist, the same Karpaty and Zorya.
There was a game, players, teams!
What we see now is agony on the pitch, no game and performers too.
What I saw today is not even the level of the second league, which I remember, even in my time. Some teams of physical training collectives of the late 80`s and early 90`s, such as "Yavor" (Krasnopolye) for example, were not worse, and in some ways even better than current UPL teams.
And the worst thing - I do not see any prospects! Just the gloom!!!
And it`s not about the money and conditions, at that time there`s no money and conditions that exist even now in Ukrainian soccer, and not even close to it! But there were the teams, the players, the game!
I remember how in 1994 in a game against newly created "Borisfen", playing in the transitional league at that time, I saw our opponent, FC "Medita" from Shakhtarsk, a young bright, extraordinary, dribbling kid, who just drove all our team on the pitch. And at the moment when he dribbled the ball in between Gena Litovchenko's legs, I said to myself: "This guy will play for us, whatever it costs me!
And within a few months Edik Tsyhmeystruk, who was that young kid, was already a player of our club. It was the same later with Gena Moroz, Vitalik Pushkutsa, Oleg Pestryakov and many other young guys.
Perhaps, and most likely, all of the above guys, unfortunately, did not realize their enormous potential, but they all have left a bright mark in Ukrainian soccer, which, alas, can not be said about the current players whom I saw today on the field. And this is not Medita, but Dynamo Kiev. These were the leaders of our soccer, the teams that claim to represent Ukrainian soccer in European cups.
And when I read in the feed that you have to be patient, believe in your favorite club, I honestly say, whether someone likes it or not - I do not believe..." - wrote Kovalevich on his page on social network Facebook.
