Manchester City striker Erling Holland has left the Norwegian national team due to injury.
Erling Holland, Getty ImagesThe 22-year-old will miss the start of the Euro 2024 qualifiers and will not help his team in the matches against Spain and Georgia, as he has to undergo treatment for an unpleasant physical complaint in his groin.
"We were hoping that it was a small discomfort that would disappear by Saturday, but after yesterday's tests and examinations, it became clear that he will not play in the games against Spain and Georgia. It is better that he undergoes a medical examination at the club," said Ola Sand, the Norwegian national team doctor.
Holland has been in tremendous form this season, scoring 42 goals for Manchester City in all competitions.
