Hasselbaink replaced Chris Powell, who ran out of an agreed contract with the FA, in the coaching post.
Jimmy Floyd has been out of work since he stepped down as head coach of Burton Albion last September. The ex-"retiree" as a player played for the Dutch national team, but spent most of his career in England. All the clubs he then coached, except Antwerp, were also English.
