Famous Ukrainian journalist and commentator Roberto Morales shared his thoughts on the starting match for the national team of Ukraine for Euro 2024.
Roberto Morales- Roberto, what are your expectations from the England match? - Ukraine match?
- I would like to see a meaningful game from the Ukrainian national team. I hardly believe in a positive result for us.
- How can we see the Ukrainian national team in this game?
- The main thing is to see the team concentrated. Everything else will be very shaky assumptions.
- What do you think Ruslan Rotan's coaching staff can instill in the players during the week of training?
- In reality, there is less than a week. Rotan's football largely coincides with the football of Shevchenko's time (except for attempts to play cautiously at Euro 2020, including against England). Proactive football is either familiar to the players or not. For Zinchenko, Malinowski, Tsygankov, Shakhtar players and, perhaps, Pikhalenko, this is their natural environment. It will be harder for the rest of them if Rotan plays his Rotan-style.
- Do you think Rotan will prepare the team for this game on his own or will he follow Serhiy Rebrov's instructions?
- Rotan will prepare the team. I don't know how much he will consult with Rebrov and whether they will interact at all. In his last interview, Serhiy was not sure whether he would leave the UAE after June.
- Which players should take on the role of leaders and unite the team during this international break?
- I think it can be Taras Stepanenko and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
