In preparation for the final tournament of Euro 2023 U-21, the youth national team of Ukraine held a control match with the Danish team in Belek, Turkey.

At the beginning of the match, the teams exchanged shots on target, and the Danes had the advantage, in particular, in the 17th minute Fesyun had to save twice during one attack by the opponents. The blue and yellows did not hesitate to respond - in the 21st minute Nazarenko was brought out one-on-one with Jorgensen, but Oleksandr hit the post. However, in a moment the Ukrainians scored - Drambayev broke into the penalty area and dropped his heel to Bragara, who beautifully curled it into the far back nine.
Toward the end of the first half, the Danes pressed our team, with Fahir and Kjærgår scoring memorable shots on goal. In the 40th minute, the Scandinavians took a penalty for Didyk's foul in their own penalty area. However, Fahir hit the crossbar from the marker, and Hansen failed to hit the empty net from the finish.
Immediately after the break, the Danes scored again - Quistgården closed the shot from the right flank at the far post. Later, the Scandinavians had the advantage and made several more shots on goal. However, in the 67th minute, after a pass from Roman, Ocheretko put the Blue and Yellows ahead again with a great shot from distance.
Soon after, Zhelezko also scored a good long-range shot. The Ukrainians focused more on keeping the advantage, but again brought a penalty kick, which Kjergor converted. At the end of the match, the Danes did not use two more scoring chances. However, the Ukrainians had the last word - in the last seconds of stoppage time, Viunnik went down the left flank and shot at the goalkeeper, and Sikan finished the ball into the net. 3:2.
Next up for our youth team is a trip - on March 27, the blue and yellows will play a sparring match against the Italian team in Reggio di Calabria.
