In the EuroChampionship qualifying match between France and the Netherlands at the Stade de France, France was the dominant team at 3-0 at halftime and 4-0 in regulation time. The match started incendiary, with Antoine Griezmann of France scoring the first goal in the 2nd minute. Just six minutes later, Diote Upamekano increased the lead with a goal of his own. In the 21st minute Kylian Mbappe scored the third goal for France, giving the hosts a comfortable lead. The Netherlands made a substitution: Kenny Taylor came on in place of Wout Weghorst in the 33rd minute. However, they could not seriously challenge France's dominance. Moreover, Adrien Rabiot of France was given a yellow card just before the break in the 45th minute. Both teams made more substitutions in the second half. In the 65th minute, Louis Gertruida (Netherlands) received a yellow card and Martin de Roon came on in place of Daly Blind. France also made the first substitution: Kingsley Coman came on instead of Moussa Diaby.
The Netherlands made two more substitutions: Stephen Berghuis and Xavi Simons came on for Donijell Malen and Davy Klaassen in the 68th minute. However, France continued to go forward and in the 71st minute Ibrahim Konate was yellow-carded. France made their second and third substitutions: Aurélien Tchouameni and Griezmann came on in place of Eduardo Kamawinga and Yves Fofana in the 76th minute. They also replaced Randal Colo Mouani with Olivier Giroud. The Netherlands received their third yellow card of the match in the 79th minute and it was given to Blind. In the 87th minute the Netherlands made one last substitution: Lutsharel Gertruida came on instead of Tyrell Malacia. However, it was too late for them to get back into the game as Mbappe scored his second goal in the 88th minute. The match ended with Dutchman Memphis Depay missing a penalty in the 90th minute and another yellow card for Frenchman Upamekano. Overall, it was a dominant performance by France, and this result allows them to take a significant step toward qualifying for the European Championships. The Netherlands, on the other hand, must regroup and come back stronger if they hope to qualify for the tournament.
