The English Premier League has accused Everton of violating financial fair play (FFP), the organization's official website reports.
The EPL representatives have not yet specified the nature of the FFP violations, but they were committed in the 2021/22 season. Over the past three years, Everton's loss amounted to 372 million pounds, while the limit was only 105 million.
"Everton said that it would be very disappointed with this decision, and the team will defend its position to the last. Now Everton will have to answer to an independent commission. If the club's guilt is proven, the Toffees may receive a financial penalty or a point deduction.
It is worth reminding that after 28 rounds, Everton ranks 15th with 26 points. Sean Dyche's men are two points away from the relegation zone.
