With their performance, the participants want to thank the UK for the help it has already provided and call on the British government to speed up the provision of military aircraft to Ukraine.
The planned action is inspired by the historic visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to London in February 2023, during which he repeatedly asked for the provision of aircraft, and his phrase "Give us wings to protect the freedom", delivered in front of the British Parliament, became legendary, making headlines around the world.
The campaign will consist of several stages:
1. Before the match, fans will unfurl a large banner on the Ukrainian sector's stand with a symbolic image of King Charles III holding an airplane as a symbol of the campaign's goal of providing airplanes for Ukraine. With the inscription "God Save The King" on the banner, the participants plan to express their admiration and gratitude to the King.
The image of the Royal Air Force logo on the lapel of the King's jacket will be a reference to another legendary quote by Zelenskyy - "In Britain, the King is an air force pilot, in Ukraine today, every air force pilot is a king." With special movements, the fans will make the image of the King move and attract the attention of journalists and everyone present at the stadium.
2. At the symbolic 24th minute of the match, Ukrainian fans will start singing the well-known English song "10 German Bombers" about 10 German bombers shot down by the British air force, but adapted to the current realities, when the Ukrainian air force needs to shoot down Russian bombers every day to defend their country.
The participants of the action are counting on the support of English fans who will pick up the song so that Wembley Stadium will sound with one voice.
3. Along with the singing, fans from the sectors will launch paper airplanes into the sky, made from postcards they receive before the match. The postcards will have the changed lyrics and instructions on how to fold the airplane.
