The opening game of the Euro 2024 qualifying tournament against England was one of the worst for the Ukraine national team ever: not a single shot on goal in the entire match, not a single shot into the opponents' goal in the second half. Ruslan Rotan became the third coach of the Blues and Yellows over the past year and a half.

Andrey Pavelko, UAF President

e already wrote that the same England, Southgate has been in charge for more than seven years. We will not accuse Rotan, who threw himself on the grenade and agreed to close the managerial failures of the UAF, - Ruslan Petrovych knew exactly what he was doing and only he knows why he took such a decision.

Perhaps the main question is: what next? Who will be the team's head coach? Will he be the head coach at all? UAF reports that it has already decided to hold talks with Rebrov. Andrii Pavelko, the Association president said the national team has the plans "B" and "C" in case if we cannot agree with the former Dynamo head coach. We do not know what agreements exist between the UAF and Rebrov and what conversations were held. But the passion with which Andriy Pavelko wants to get Rebrov is surprising and reminds of another PR campaign, and the situation with the coaches of the main team of the country for the last year and a half can not be called other than a disaster, managerial chaos and powerlessness.

Just a chronology, based on information from the official site of the UAF:

On August 9, 2021, the Ukrainian Football Association confirmed that it had not renewed the contract with Andriy Shevchenko and his coaching staff. (At the same time, Shevchenko himself first wrote that his contract with the UAF expired on July 30, and the last match under his guidance the Ukraine national team played as early as July 3 - against England, at Euro 2020.) The UAF announced the appointment of Alexander Petrakov as acting head coach of the national team on August 18, 2021. It turns out that for nine days the main team of the country was without a coach.

On November 18, 2021 the UAF removed the prefix "acting" from Petrakov's position and appointed him head coach of the national team. In his "acting" status. he was in charge of the national team for 92 days ..

Petrakov's contract with the UAF, according to the official site of the Association, expired on December 30, 2022. The UAF announced the termination of his contract on January 12. It turns out, Petrakov's status was not clear for 14 daysBut, as we agreed, we will consider only the official reports.

The UAF announced Ruslan Rotan's appointment as the acting head coach of the national team on February 28. It turns out that it turns out that the national team had been without a nominal coach for 47 days.

As of March 27, the new head coach of the Ukraine national football team has not been appointed yet. In other words, without a full-fledged head coach, the country's main team has been without a full-fledged head coach for 74 days.

Total: 63 days in 17 months the main team of the country had no coach at all, and for 175 days during this period the team has been managed by "acting coach". In eight of the 16 games the team played during that period the team did not have a full head coach. Are you still waiting for successful results, consistency and good selection?
