UEFA President Alexander Ceferin responded to the demand of the European Parliament to remove Belarusian teams from competitions under the auspices of the union.
According to Sportschau, Ceferin sent a letter to more than 100 members of the European Parliament, where he noted that there was an intention to discuss the situation in Belarus at the next meeting of the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee will be held on April 4 in Lisbon, and the UEFA Congress will be held the next day.
Later, UEFA confirmed that the executive committee would consider the exclusion of the Belarusian national team from qualification for the European Championship 2024.
“The situation in Belarus will indeed be discussed by the UEFA Executive Committee on April 4,” the UEFA press service said.
