Hertha Berlin continued to push forward and finally succeeded in the 77th minute when J. Ngankam equalized. In the last minutes of the match took a frantic turn, both teams were trying to score the winning goal. Freiburg substituted L. Cholera for N. Petersen in the 85th minute to try and turn the tide in their favor. Tensions continued to mount as time drew to a close and the pressure took over Hertha Berlin's A. Rogel, who was replaced by V. Kanga in the 87th minute. The match ended with a yellow card from J. Ngankam from Hertha Berlin, who was cautioned at the end of normal time. All in all, it was a spectacular match that showed a high level of play in the Bundesliga. Both teams played well and in the end it was a fair result with both teams sharing the trophies.
