In the current championship, Vladyslav Supryaha was included in the squad only once in a match against Zorya. At the club level, the striker last scored in official matches in the CL qualifiers in 2020 against Ghent.
Ruslan Rotan did not call him to the friendly matches of the youth national team of Ukraine in light of preparations for the youth Euro. After the match with FC Lviv, Mircea Lucescu said that Supryaha was not in the best shape, so he was not included in the application.
What happens to a once-talented football player:
An inflated bubble. People started talking about Supryaha at a very young age, when he was playing for Dnipro-1 in the Second League. He was compared to Andriy Shevchenko. The media made him out to be a very talented footballer, but the reality was a little different.
Pressure. Everyone expected everything from Supryaha at once. They hoped that in the matches against Ajax in the CL qualifiers, he would be able to prove himself. Vlad was already one of the most talented players of the new generation. They expected goals from Supryaha. He was not ready to give it. All of this led to criticism of the player and a loss of confidence by the striker himself.
Character. In order to overcome life's difficulties, you need to have strong-willed qualities. It seems that Vlad is not very good at overcoming problems. On the contrary, they knock him out of his rut and it takes him a while to get himself together. So far, Supryaha has been successful only in situations where he had full trust from his coach and no competition.
Injuries. He missed the first part of the season due to injury. He also did not play in Italy due to health problems. In the player's profile on transfermarkt, Supryaha has 10 injury histories since 2018. Something always prevents him from concentrating on football.
He was successful only with Mykhailenko. In adult football, Supryaha was successful only during the second part of the 2019/20 season, when he played for Dnipro-1. Under Dmytro Mykhaylenko, he showed his virtues. Half a year in almost 5 years in adult football is a very modest figure for a football player. There is an assumption that he did not fully transition from youth to adult football.
Agents. I don't understand how you could send an unprepared and unsuccessful forward to Serie A? You need to go to the leading championships when you are in good shape, actively playing, and not running away from your own problems. You need to start overcoming the crisis with a small one, and not look for reasons in others. Lucescu is not his own enemy. He will not marinate a strong player. The failure at Sampdoria further led to the player's loss of self-confidence.
Loss of speed. Vlad's main virtue was his speed. At the U-19 Euros in Finland, the England national team "guarded" him with two players. Then Vlad began to lose his speed. There is a version that he was advised to increase his muscle mass, which led to a loss of speed.
Finances. Supryaga is only 23 years old. And he has already signed three big contracts. First, with Dinpro-1, when he was recruited to the first team. Then twice with Dynamo. First during the transfer, and then re-signed in 2021. Each of these contracts was no worse than the previous ones. It turned out to be a paradoxical situation when the player has not yet achieved anything, but already has everything.
Emotional state. The player's personal life was known almost in detail. Some people used it to make PR and increase their own recognition, while others fell into an emotional hole. After the war broke out, Supryaha's brother and father were in the Armed Forces. No one knows what is going on inside the government.
If you want to solve the problem, you have to start small. Now it is important for Supryaga himself to keep his career and have a perspective, and for Dynamo not to lose an asset for which they paid 6.5 million euros plus a lot of money for maintenance.
The recipe for overcoming the crisis is obvious: Supryaga must have regular game practice and have the trust of the head coach. This is hardly possible in any big team. Therefore, you need to start with small clubs to get yourself in order. And only then think about further prospects at Dynamo or Europe. In other words, Supryaga has to take a step back in order to take a few steps forward. He should give up his Dynamo salary to have a stable playing practice.
Zorya is probably the best option here. Patrick van Leeuwen has shown in practice that he knows how to work with downed pilots. Oleksandr Hatskevych, Oleksiy Mykhailychenko, and Mircea Lucescu couldn't find an approach to Nazariy Rusyn, while at Zorya he has become one of the team's leaders and scores a lot. Everyone had already written Bohdan Butko off. But now he looks like one of the team's leaders.
"Zorya is based in Kyiv and uses Dynamo's infrastructure. We don't even need to change apartments.
