Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been banned for eight matches for his behavior in the FA Cup match against Manchester United (1-3).

The 28-year-old footballer grabbed the main referee of the match, Chris Kavanagh. Also, the Cottagers' coach Marco Silva received a two-match suspension for his angry reaction to the incident.
"We argued that the standard penalty that would otherwise have been imposed on Aleksandar Mitrovic for his violent behavior in the sending-off episode that occurred with the referee in the 72nd minute of the match was clearly insufficient. This was upheld by the regulatory commission and a three-match ban was imposed.
This is in addition to the three-match ban he had already received for a straight red card. The forward separately admitted that his behavior and verbal abuse after the sending off was inappropriate, abusive and threatening, and the regulatory commission imposed an additional two-match ban and a fine of £75,000. In total, the regulatory commission disqualified Aleksandar Mitrovic for eight matches. One of them has already taken place, and therefore the forward will not be available for Fulham in the next seven matches," the statement reads.
