UEFA President Alexander Ceferin has made it clear that the international "ban" of Russian soccer at both club and national team level will not be lifted as long as Russia continues to wage war against Ukraine.
"Until the war is over, I see no way to change anything," Ceferin said during yesterday's UEFA Congress.
Recall that in the first days after Russia attacked Ukraine, UEFA and FIFA expelled Russian clubs and national teams from all international competitions. Since then, for the second year, Russian clubs play only between themselves, while the Russian national team enjoys friendly matches with Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Iraq and other opponents of the same high level.
