After defeating Middlesbrough, Vencan Kompany's side guaranteed themselves first or second place with 87 points in 39 rounds before the end of the tournament. That result definitely qualifies them for the APL.
In second place in the Championships is Sheffield United with 76 points. The third ticket to the AFL will be drawn in the playoffs among the teams occupying places 3 to 6 in the standings: "Luton Town (68 points), Middlesbrough (67), Millwall (62) and Blackburn (61).
