I have already written on my page more than once about how important the Coach plays in football. Especially in professional. The clearest example is Valery Vasilyevich Lobanovsky!
I’m not talking about his period of work at Dynamo Kiev in the mid-seventies, eighties of the last century, associated with the post-Soviet period of its development, but about the end of the 90s, when Valery Vasilyevich returned, after his long absence, to his native " Dynamo". After many years of decline, with the return of Valery Vasilyevich, we saw a completely different Dynamo. Dynamo, which, like in the old days, tore apart its rivals on the football field, be it in Ukraine, be it in Europe.
In recent years, I have repeatedly noted the work of two Ukrainian mentors - Yuriy Vernidub and Roman Grigorchuk. You had to be blind or not understand anything about football at all in order not to notice this. The results of their work in "Zorya" and "Chernomorets" were clear confirmation of the above.
I have repeatedly suggested to the same Dynamo, which has been experiencing a shortage of a good coach for many years, to pay attention to these mentors. They didn’t even have the financial resources, including the performers, that the eminent Kiev club had, but, unlike Dynamo, they showed a decent game in European cups. And most importantly, they raised the level of players whom the same Dynamo had already written off a long time ago. The same applies to the appointment of coaches for the national team of Ukraine!
And today, looking at the results of the work of the above mentors, I am once again convinced of the above. Look at the results of the work of Roman Grigorchuk and Yuriy Vernydub, especially after the winter break - they are the best confirmation of the above.
Grigorchuk and Vernydub gathered last year at the beginning of the championship mediocre performers who could be recruited a few days before the start, not having close to the resources that Dynamo have, not to mention Shakhtar. And already in the spring we clearly saw what a real COACH is! And the results shown in the spring matches of the teams led by these coaches are the clearest confirmation of this!” Kovalevich wrote on his Facebook page.
