A journalist from the UAE, Mohammed Hamad, said that information of the Ukrainian commentator Viktor Vatsko regarding reaching an agreement between Al-Ain coach Serhii Rebrov and UAF is not true.
"There was news from a sports commentator that the president of UAF Andriy Pavelko agreed with Sergey Reberov on a 3-year contract, and the official announcement will be made within 14 days.
This news is not true, as the coach came out and personally stated that there were no talks with the Ukrainian federation, right after he knocked out Al-Wasl in the semi-finals of the Cup, and two matches before that he said that there had not been and there had not been no offer from the Ukrainian federation.
My information: Serhiy Reberov has a valid contract with Al Ain until June 30, 2023. He is only focused on preparing the team to win the next titles. Moreover, the team claims a cup double and is still fighting in the championship.
The coach could announce a contract extension with Al Ain after the end of the season if the club's management can fulfill some of his player requests. Rebrov set himself the task of winning the AFC Champions League next season. He wants to achieve this.
What UAF is doing now is an attempt to cover up the catastrophic failure that has befallen Ukrainian football, especially after the recent 2-0 defeat by England in the Euro 2024 qualifiers," Hamad wrote on his Twitter page.
