The English "Manchester City" after playing a draw with Bayern Munich (1-1) in the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals, on the sum of two meetings (3-0, 1-1) reached the semifinals of the tournament.

City manager Josep Guardiola became a Champions League semi-finalist as coach for the tenth time in his career. This is a new record: no coach has ever managed to lead his side to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for such a number of times.
