The soccer match between Hertha Berlin and Werder Bremen was an exciting Bundesliga match at Berlin's Olympiastadion. Werder Bremen dominated from the start of the game and took the lead in the 6th minute of the match thanks to a goal by M. Daksch. Daksch added another goal in the 27th minute, ending the game perfectly and giving his team the lead by two goals. Hertha Berlin tried to get back into the game, but they could not get on the scoresheet; despite creating some good chances, they could not convert them into goals. The team had an opportunity in the 29th minute when M. O. Kempf was yellow carded, but could not take advantage. For Werder Bremen, one of the players, J. Stage, also received a yellow card in the 36th minute. As the first half drew to a close, it was obvious that Hertha Berlin would have to make some changes if they wanted to turn the tide.
The second half began with Hertha making three substitutions, replacing D. Scherhant with K. Boateng, T. Chiguerci for S. Serdar, and M. Dardai for A. Rogel. But it was not enough to stop the onslaught of Werder Bremen: in the 51st minute, Dax scored his third goal of the match. On 63 minutes, Werder Bremen extended their lead to four goals thanks to a goal by M. Weizer. In the 68th minute, Hertha Berlin managed to get back into the game thanks to a goal by J. Ngankam. Hertha Berlin kept the pressure on 79 minutes and in the 79th minute got the penalty, which was implemented by D. Lucebakio. On 80 minutes, the team made one last substitution, replacing K. Ezhuke by Ngankam. Werder Bremen also made some late substitutions: A. Jung and L. Buchanan replaced R. Schmid and M. Veljkovic. 90 minutes into the game, Werder Bremen's K. Gross came on as a sub for Ivan Gruev. The game ended 2-4 in favor of Werder Bremen. Hertha Berlin will be disappointed with their performance, but they can take positives from the fact that they managed to score two goals in the second half. Werder Bremen, on the other hand, will be pleased with their performance and especially with M. Dax's hat-trick, which proved decisive.
