Today is not quite an ordinary day for our resource. Exactly 25 years ago, April 23, 1998 Dynamo.kiev.ua first appeared on the still very modest expanse of the Internet. Although we do not ask for congratulations, but it would be wrong to pass by the quarter-century anniversary of the site. That's why there is this text, that's why the logo of the resource is decorated.
For these 25 years Dynamo.kiev.ua went from the first record attendance of 30 (thirty) visitors per day to the millionth monthly audience (with a record of 1.5 million visitors per month), showing up to 30 million pages per month.
In the archives of the web-site there are stored visits of last century (!) to its discussion sections and communication with the fans of Sergey Rebrov, Kakhi Kaladze, Andriy Shevchenko, Andriy Gusin, Oleksandr Shovkovskiy - players of that star Dynamo of 1998-99. At that time the legendary Valerii Lobanovskii, who told me once in person after one of his press conferences at the Dynamo training ground in Koncha-Zaspa, regularly got acquainted with the opinions of Dynamo fans on the discussion platform Stena.
No matter how you estimate our resource in the current segment of time or in the future, but nobody, nothing and never will change neither the fact that Dynamo.kiev.ua was the first site on the yuanet, devoted to Kiev "Dynamo", nor the fact that our site for 9 years (from 1998 to 2007) was the most visited Ukrainian resource of sports themes. This is not just Dynamo.kiev.ua history, it's a part of ua web history.
And a little piece of this history survived by miracle. Below are two rating sites, dated April 2003. The first one is a rating of Ukrainian sites of sport subjects, the second one is a rating of all Ukrainian sites. The column of the rating, entitled "Hosts" is the daily number of visitors to the site. And "Hits" is the number of pages viewed per day.
Do not be surprised that in these rankings you will not find those or other sites that you know from the last years: they simply did not exist then. Even a network monster like Google, appeared only 10 years after the appearance of Dynamo.kiev.ua - in 2008. That is the reality. Such is the history. The history of Ukrainian Internet, which originated the site where you are now.
However, to this day Dynamo.kiev.ua is the most visited Internet resource devoted to the Kiev "Dynamo" - none of the sites of similar subjects for 25 years and failed to achieve at least such attendance, which would not be many times less than the attendance of our resource. Everyone can easily make sure of this with the help of, for example, similarweb.com resource, which provides authentic data about the attendance and audience of a web-site.
In 25-year history of Dynamo.kiev.ua there were many remarkable periods of formation, development, there were many unique projects. We have never limited ourselves with any templates and frameworks and always looking for new niches. For example, for a few years Dynamo.kiev.ua hosted the former captain of Dynamo Oleksandr Golovko, who was a friend of the site. We used to publish the media analyzes of the top matches of Dynamo in European competitions under the title "Parsing of the Flights with Oleksandr Golovko" - the content, which is still unique and a subject of pride for us.
But the greatest treasure of our site were and remain you, our visitors, without whom Dynamo.kiev.ua simply would not be. Without them, it would not have made it through the distance of 25 years. Without them there would be no motivation to change something, create something new, argue within the editorial board in an attempt to find an answer to the question "How to improve?
In addition, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone-everyone-who has helped me in one way or another with this now 25-year-old site. Some 25 years ago, some 10 years ago. Some have been side-by-side with me for years and supported me in all my endeavors. Someone helped 15 years ago, in 2008, pushing the site to a new stage in its life and development. Someone helped last week. Someone helped just yesterday. Dynamo.kiev.ua is a part of my life, and I remember and am grateful to all who helped me to work with this resource, which was born 25 years ago with the strange name "Dynamo Kiev from Shurik". :).
Thanks to all of you! And to all of us with our common anniversary of Dynamo.kiev.ua! Next 25 years will be even more interesting!
But first - the victory over Russian nits! Without this victory, none of us will have any anniversaries, no dates, no projects, no ua web, and no soccer. Glory to Ukraine!
