Former player of the national team of Ukraine Ivan Getsko shared with Team1 with his impressions of yesterday's match between Dynamo and Shakhtar in the capital of Ukraine..

Ivan Getsko

- It's just a nightmare, there's no other way to put it... I want to forget about this national "classic" as soon as possible. It seems as if both teams, as if in cahoots, decided to do us a favor by taking to the field just to get the job done. The pace was slow, there were a lot of mistakes, and there was no creative play at all. It's sad, because these were rivals who don't hide their ambitious plans to play both on the national and international stage. Jokers...

- And yet, yesterday's draw - a fair result?

- Perhaps, yes, because Dynamo and Shakhtar didn't play for a win. You know, it's no secret that Dynamo has been going through hard times for a long time. That's why I was surprised that even against such a poor Dynamo, Shakhtar acted with an eye to the rear, losing control of the ball, which has always been their "skate". In my opinion, after the resumption of the championship, the level of play of the Pitmen is a matter of serious concern, and we should not forget that they have the largest representation in the national team of Ukraine.

By the way, it's hard to remember the last time Dynamo and Shakhtar both managed so few shots on goal. Where do the goals come from?

- Could Shakhtar's misfire bring back the intrigue in the fight for the championship?

- It is unlikely, because it seems that Dnipro-1, the main pursuer of Donetsk, simply does not want to make efforts to conquer the top. Although, in fairness, it should be said that Dnipro is only in the process of forming a capable team.

It must be stated that, unfortunately, the level of the domestic Premier League is low, and what Shakhtar and Dnipro-1 are worth has recently been clearly demonstrated in European competitions by the Dutch Feyenoord and the Cypriot AEK. The once formidable Dynamo is degrading before our eyes, and there are no promising youngsters. And we shouldn't be under any illusions: it would be great if, under the current martial law, we are lucky enough to stop the decline in Ukrainian football altogether.
