Around 4,000 football agents took part in the first licensing test from FIFA, reports The Athletic.

Of the 3,800 agents, only 1,962 - 52 per cent of the total - successfully completed the test. This licence will allow them to continue to act as transfer or contract renewal representatives involving players, managers or clubs.

This was the first test that FIFA approved last year. It aims to raise the professional and ethical standards of the profession. Under FIFA's new rules for football agents, agents must be licensed from 1 October this year.

Those who have not passed the exam will still be able to work during the 2023 summer transfer window. They will be able to retake the test on 20 September. In 2024, the exams will be in May and November.
