Argentina forward Lionel Messi, who plays for PSG, may not return to Barcelona if the Spanish club are unable to resolve their financial problems before doing so.
Laporta, the Catalans president, has already opted for a plan B in case a return does not happen - the 21-year-old Argentine Gabriel Vega, who is also coveted by Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern and Manchester City.
The midfielder, who plays on loan at Godoya Cruz from Boca Juniors, has already made a decision that suits the Catalans' interests - he has changed manager and his new agent Pini Zahavi is on good terms with Laporta.
