In the match between Kryvbas and Oleksandriya, Vikentiy Voloshyn appeared on the pitch at the end of the first half. In the middle of the second half, Ruslan Rotan made a reverse substitution. Vikentiy did not improve his performance and was one of the culprits behind the first goal conceded when he failed to close his area after a corner.
No global conclusions can be drawn after the match in Kryvyi Rih. It is not easy for any team to play against Vernydub's soldiers. You need to win a lot of battles. The pitch at the Girnyk Stadium is far from ideal. But the match against Kryvbas showed the general condition of Vikenty Voloshin this season. One of the main talents of the Dynamo Academy is not doing well.
Vikentiy VoloshynWhen I first saw Vikenty for the youth team, I was impressed. First of all, by his ability to think on the pitch. He does not have any special physical or speed qualities by nature. He has football intelligence. He can play very unconventionally, he thinks very subtly and quickly on the football field. Of all the players who have played for Dynamo, Voloshyn is most similar to Valentyn Belkevych in his style of play. Today, Valentyn is 22 years old. The age when you can already be successful at the level of adult football. But the talented footballer hasn't come close to realising his potential yet.
I was sure that after the arrival of Mircea Lucescu, Vincent would be noticed. Indeed, he was taken to training camps several times. The experienced Mircea looked closely at the player, but nothing happened. Even in a situation of personnel shortage, loss of legionnaires, and a fairly good loan to Desna in the first part of the season before last, Vikentiy was not counted on in the first team. In the summer, he was sent to Oleksandriya with a group of other young players. Some on a full-time basis, and some only on loan.
Things were still going somehow under Yurii Hura. Vikentiy was a rotation player. He made 4 assists. He did not grab stars from the sky, but he got some minutes. With the arrival of Ruslan Rotan, everything does not look very promising. This did not come as a surprise. Ruslan Petrovych didn't pay attention to Voloshyn in the youth national team of Ukraine, where he was the right age for him.
Voloshyn has one more year of his contract with Dynamo until the summer of 2024. In the summer, the club and the player will need to think very seriously about the future. Oleksandriya has no further prospects.
I do not believe that Vikentiy does not understand that without work, no talent means almost nothing. He does not want to study, work, does not concentrate on football and so on. Voloshyn spent the first part of last season in Chernihiv, where Oleksandr Riabokonya's team did not look weak. He lacked experience, but there were positive moments. He even scored 3 goals. At the age of 20, he was released from the youth team on loan. If they overexposed him, it was not much. Perhaps the fact that Vikentiy went to Kirovohrad region with some of his former Dynamo youth teammates - Artem Shulianskyi, Danylo Skorko and others - had a negative impact. Perhaps he just hasn't matured yet and his time hasn't come. Nazarii Rusyn has only just come into his own at Zorya. Before that, he didn't do much either.
I think the bigger problem is that Voloshin needs an individual approach. For the coach to believe in him, trust him, use his strengths, work with him as a person, not on a par with everyone else. He saw him in a specific position and understood how to use his strengths. Voloshin is not a "soldier" who will follow all instructions, but he needs freedom of action, the ability to make his own decisions.
It has now become clear that he is not a left midfielder. He does not have the physical and speed qualities for that. He is a clear "ten", or a creative winger. A player who should not run for long passes, but rather be with the ball. At one time, Lucescu found a position for Mykola Shaparenko in the support area. Perhaps this is Vincent's position as well.
In the summer, there are two real options for him to continue his career - Kryvbas and Zorya. Yurii Vernydub knows how to knock out all the unnecessary things and concentrate on football. Yurii Mykolaiovych has moulded many young players. "Zorya play a style of football close to Voloshyn's strengths. Moreover, Serhiy Buletsa has a chance to return to Dynamo.
It's too early to write Vikentiy off completely. I would watch him for another season. We just need to create the conditions where he can develop. The next season is crucial for the player: either he confirms his talent and goes to the top, or he is released.
