Carlo Ancelotti (right)Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid head coach: "The ball went out of bounds before the opponent's goal. That's what technology says, I didn't say that. I don't understand why there was no VAR check and the referee did not pay attention to this episode, as well as many others.
It was an interesting game. It was difficult for us in the first half but it was much better in the second. We controlled the game well. When the opponents had possession for long periods, we controlled our defence and then, as soon as we started to play the ball, we created problems for them.
We got good impressions. We fought, we struggled. Maybe we even deserved to win here. We played well after conceding a goal and created some dangerous chances. It certainly gives us confidence before the return game. I have a good feeling before the return leg.
Josep Guardiola, Manchester City head coach: "In Manchester it will be like a final in front of our fans. We scored when the opponent outclassed us in the second half. I congratulate my team. You need the best qualities of your strongest players in games like this and Ederson played great. And Kyle Walker played superbly against one of our strongest opponents.
When we outclassed our opponent, they scored. When they played better, we scored. It was a hard fought game. Real have a great and very experienced team. It is not easy to play against them. We will see what we can improve on in the return game.
