Russian Rostov striker Nikolay Komlichenko has admitted that he misses playing in European competitions.
"As for European competitions, of course I miss them. It's a different mood, atmosphere, different football. I miss it a lot, I miss it," said Komlichenko, whose team is "in the Eurocup zone" - in third place - at the end of the Russian championship this season.
We shall remind you that in the first days after Russia's attack on Ukraine, Russian football was expelled from all international tournaments both at club and national team level. Since then, football clubs from a sub-country called Russia have only entertained each other in domestic tournaments, and the Russian national team is content with friendly matches against Kyrgyzstan, Iraq and other Asian rivals.
