AS Roma and Bayer Leverkusen met in an exciting match in the UEFA Europa League. The game took place at the Stadio Olimpico and it was a tense match in which both teams were keen to take the lead. No goals were scored in the first half, although both teams had some good chances. Bayer Leverkusen made their first substitution of the match in the 36th minute when O. Kossunu was replaced by M. Bakker. The second half started with a yellow card for Leverkusen's R. Andric in the 50th minute, while M. Diaby also received a yellow card in the 57th minute. AS Roma's G. Mancini was yellow-carded in the 58th minute, as was Bayer Leverkusen's J. Tach. In the 63rd minute, AS Roma took the lead thanks to a goal from E. Bove. Bayer Leverkusen tried to respond with substitutions: A. Glozek and S. Azmoun were replaced on 72 minutes. Azmoun replaced O. Kossouna and M. Diaby.

It was a tough win for Roma and a disappointing defeat for Bayer Leverkusen.
