In the 56th minute, Freiburg's M. Gulde finally scored for his team, but it was not enough to catch up with Union Berlin's lead. Union Berlin also made several substitutions during the game: K. Behrens was replaced by J. Sibatcheu and A. Schafer replaced M. Thorsby in the 63rd minute. In the 70th minute, a penalty kick was awarded to SC Freiburg and W. Grifo scored his team's second and final goal. A. Laiduni of Union Berlin scored the fourth and final goal of the match in the 80th minute, sealing the victory for his team. Throughout the game, several players received yellow cards, including K. Behrens and S. Becker of Union Berlin and M. Gregoric of SC Freiburg, who received a yellow card in the final minutes of the game. Overall, the match between Union Berlin and SC Freiburg was an exciting display of football talent. Union Berlin's first three goals proved to be a great advantage, while SC Freiburg tried to catch up with their opponents throughout the second half. Although Freiburg made a valiant effort late in the match, Union Berlin's dominant play secured them a deserved victory.
