On Saturday 13 May, Manchester United FC won 2-0 against Southampton in the 36th round of the FA Championship. This result allowed Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag to set a new club record, previously held by Jose Mourinho.
The victory over the Saints was Man United's 38th in all competitions this season. Previously, no coach in the club's history has managed to achieve such a result in his debut season.
The previous achievement came from Portugal's José Mourinho. In the 2016/2017 season, Manchester United won 37 games in all competitions under his leadership. In his first year with the Red Devils, the Portuguese helped them win three trophies - the English League Cup and FA Super Cup - and win the Europa League.
