Five Toulouse players have refused to play in today's French league match against Nantes, reports La Depeche du Midi.

The reason is that Ligue 1 have conducted an anti-homophobia campaign for the third successive season, with team captains and coaches wearing rainbow armbands and other players playing in rainbow-coloured uniforms.

Five Toulouse players (Zakaria Abouhlal, Moussa Diarra, Fares Shaibi, Logan Costa and Saïd Hamoulitch) refuse to do so because of religious motives.

The club hopes to convince the players otherwise before the match starts. Head coach Philippe Montagnier has called up 25 players for the game, although only 20 may make the final squad.
