The Premier League match between Lviv and Poltava Vorskla, played at the SKIF Stadium, was an intense battle between the two teams aiming to succeed in the league. The match was evenly contested throughout the first half, with both teams battling for the lead but ultimately failing to score. Levov made the first substitution in the 19th minute, S. Siminin replacing O. Traore. This substitution had made little difference to the game and the first half ended 0-0. The second half started similarly to the first one, with both teams creating chances but not using them. 46 minutes into the match Lviv made a second substitution: Volodymyr Bugay came on instead of I.Svrzniak. Unfortunately, this substitution did not bring the desired result, and on 57 minutes, Poltava's Vorskla took the lead thanks to a well-taken penalty by T. Seferi.
The Lviv side tried to get back into the game, but it was not to be - Vorskla Poltava scored again in the final minutes of the game. Vorskla Poltava made a flurry of substitutions: D. Chernysh replaced A. Chelyadin on 81st minute, Ricardo Lopes replaced I. Kane on 85th minute, A. Kulakovskyi came on instead of I. Nesterenko on 90th minute, and Lucas Ramires came on instead of O. Sklyar who scored second goal earlier in the match. Lviv also made several late substitutions in the 71st and 80th minutes: A. Remeniak and O. Belyaev replaced Y. Bogunov and D. Kuzyk respectively. On 80 minutes, A. Alibekov replaced B. Myshenko, but it was too late as Vorskla Poltava clinched a deserved 2-0 win. Overall, it was a disappointing result for the Lviv side, who failed to convert their chances and lost the game to a well-organised Vorskla side. Victory for Vorskla Poltava lifted them up in the standings, and the Lviv side will need to regroup quickly if they hope to avoid a similar fate in their next game.
