Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois commented on the 0-4 defeat to Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League last-16.
"One of the problems was that we couldn't build an attacking game. We didn't create chances, which made the opponent more and more comfortable to play. At half-time, we were confident that we could change the course of events on the pitch.
I cannot say that we were surprised by the way City started this match. We were ready for such pressure. We understood that they would not allow us to have free possession of the ball. We should have played easier passing. "City are having an incredible season, including in the domestic arena. That's why we had to show our best," Courtois was quoted as saying by UEFA's official website.
