The long-awaited UEFA Europa League match between Sevilla and Juventus kept fans in suspense from start to finish. Both sides put up a fierce fight for victory in this encounter at the Ramon Sanchez Pizhuan stadium. Several yellow cards were shown in the first half, with M. Keane being cautioned in the 11th minute for a foul on a Juventus player. Shortly before half-time Juventus made a substitution: N. Faggioli replaced L. Paredes. The second half began with a yellow card for Sevilla's M. Acuna in the 57th minute, before Juventus replaced Torres with Suso. Juventus responded with two quick substitutions, substituting A. Di Maria for F. Chiesa and M. Keane for D. Vlahovic. In the 65th minute, Vlahovic got the visitors ahead. Sevilla kept pushing forward with their own substitution in the 70th minute when L. Ocampos was replaced by E. Lamela.
Just a minute later, the home side battled back when Suso levelled the score in Sevilla's favour. As the final minutes of regulation time approached, Juventus made two substitutions, with M. Locatelli replacing F. Miretti and S. Iling Junior instead of F. Kostic. However, it was Sevilla who sealed the match by scoring in the 95th minute thanks to a goal from E. Lamela. When the game went into extra time, both teams made further substitutions in an attempt to win. Juventus's J. Cuadrado was replaced by A. Milic, while Sevilla's J. Navas replaced Papa Gomez. In the 115th minute, Sevilla's M. Acuna received his second yellow card, which resulted in a red card and forced his team to play with ten men. Towards the end of the match, both teams received additional yellow cards: G. Montiel and M. Acuna of Sevilla and Danilo and L. Paredes of Juventus were cautioned. In the 117th minute, Sevilla made one last substitution: K. Rekic replaced Suso. The match ended 2-1 in Sevilla's favour, much to the delight of the home fans.
