Previously, Sevilla played in the UEFA Cup finals in 2006 and 2007, as well as in the Europa League finals in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2020. The Spanish team has won all six previous finals. "Sevilla holds the record for the number of UEFA Cup or Europa League trophies.

It should be added that until 2009, the Europa League tournament was called the UEFA Cup.
