Renowned journalist Artem Frankov has given his opinion on the current situation at Everton, who could be relegated from the AFL at the end of the season.

Artem Frankov

"Everton are a great club. They are one of the founding fathers of the Football League. A club that traces its history back to 1878, back when it was a Sunday school team at St Domingo's Church. And, to be honest, I somehow don't care that our Vitaliy Mykolenko plays there.

For me Everton is first of all a great club. And I do not like when such teams drop out. It is a shame as if a part of history crumbles before my eyes. I think Everton will stay in the AFL after all. They have two unmotivated teams against them - Wolverhampton and Bournemouth. They've already solved their problems.

Sean Dyche hasn't changed much at Everton since his arrival. The exception is a miracle called Brighton v Everton 1-5, just a match out of the blue. Like a head on a fence. Bang, hello to you. As for Dyche's fate, I don't think he will be removed as head coach even if Everton are relegated to the Championship. Right now the club owners are more focused on building a new stadium where they are behind schedule.

I don't think the club management will have the heart to look for a new coach right now, to compensate Deitch. And let's be honest, Sean Deitch is an economy coach. If the Toffees happen to get relegated, Dyche is just the coach for the Championship. The level of the current Championships is such that it's better to play in it than not play in the APL. I'm referring to the playing practice that Mykolenko will have, practice that is in the best interests of the Ukraine national team.

Again, I do not think that in the game against Everton, Bournemouth will be digging themselves into the pitch. Zabarny's team have already fulfilled their local task of staying in the APL next season," Frankov said.
