The game between Auxerre and Paris Saint-Germain was a much-anticipated Ligue 1 match played at the Stade de l'Abbaye Deschamps. PSG dominated the game in the first half, with striker Kylian Mbappe scoring two goals in the 6th and 8th minutes respectively. Auxerre's defence struggled to cope with Mbappe's pace, and despite their best efforts, the ball was quickly in the net twice. At the start of the second half, Auxerre struggled to regain control of the game. However, their efforts were constantly thwarted by PSG's defence, which held firm. In the 46th minute, Jubal received a yellow card, further dampening Auxerre's hopes of getting back into the game. However, on 51 minutes, Auxerre finally succeeded: L. Sinayoko scored a goal for the hosts.
This lifted the spirits of the Auxerre fans, who had behaved rather reservedly up to that point. PSG tried to increase their lead with two substitutions in the 55th and 79th minutes respectively. Nevertheless, both teams continued to struggle against each other, the game keeping the fans in suspense from end to end. In the 86th minute, Auxerre made three substitutions, including J. Perrin and M. Niang replacing L. Sinayoko and N. Da Costa. In the 90th minute, with time running out, PSG thought they had scored a third goal. However, much to the delight of the Auxerre fans, the shot was ruled offside. Despite PSG's best efforts, the score remained 2-1 in favour of the visitors and the game came to an end. Overall, it was an entertaining match, with both teams showing their skill and desire to win. PSG's clinical play in the first half was the deciding factor, but Auxerre can be confident that Auxerre will show their composure in the second half.
