Manchester United and Chelsea met at Old Trafford in a Premier League match. At half-time the score was 2-0 in favour of Manchester United, and at the end of the half the score was 4-1 in favour of the home side. The first goal of the match was scored by Manchester United's Casemiro in the sixth minute. That first goal put Manchester United in a strong position and they continued to put pressure on Chelsea throughout the first half. In the 29th minute, Manchester United made their first substitution, with Anthony coming on in place of M. Rashford. As half-time approached, Manchester United continued to dominate and just before the half-time whistle they managed to score again. A. Marcial scored Manchester United's second goal of the match, making the score 2-0 at the break. At the beginning of the second half, Manchester United made another substitution: L. Shaw replaced T. Malacia.
Chelsea tried to turn the tide by making two substitutions in the 64th minute: Mudric came on as K. Pulisic and K. Havertz replaced Joao Felix. However, Manchester United responded with two substitutions of their own by fielding A. Garnacho in place of A. Marcial and K. Eriksen in place of Fred in the 70th minute. This tactical substitution proved effective for Manchester United as a penalty was awarded just three minutes later. B. Fernandes scored from the spot, bringing Manchester United's lead to 3-0. Chelsea tried to get back into the game, but they failed to reverse Manchester United's lead. They did manage to score a consolation goal in the 89th minute when Joao Felix found himself in the net. However, Manchester United had the last word in the match as M. Rashford scored his fourth goal for the hosts in the 78th minute. As the final whistle blew, Manchester United were victorious against their opponents with a score of 4-1. The victory lifted them up the Premier League table and gave the fans something to cheer about. It was a deserved win for Manchester United, who showed a strong performance from start to finish.
