Today, 27 May, FC Polissya (Zhytomyr) president Gennadiy Butkevych turned 65. He was congratulated by UEFA honorary member Hryhoriy Surkis.
Dear Gennadiy Vladyslavovych!
I sincerely congratulate you on your 65th birthday and wish you happiness, health and well-being!
You are one of those outstanding people who have been making a tremendous - if not decisive - contribution to securing and strengthening Ukraine's economic capabilities for many years, and you serve as a shining example for current and future investors and business captains.
Successful operation of existing and creation of new businesses, and thus an increase in the number of jobs and taxes paid, is only one side of the coin. The other, no less significant, is the social and charitable projects you have implemented. Your philanthropic initiatives are too numerous to list, and your direct and indirect support of the defence forces defending our country from Russian aggression cannot be overestimated.
Your patriotic stance and sincere desire to help the development of the whole country and the communities you care about are widely known. And your honesty, integrity and true sense of honour are simply a benchmark!
I personally, and everyone else who wishes the best for Ukrainian football, are very pleased that you have joined our common cause of supporting and developing this sport. I know that you have always had sympathy for Dynamo Kyiv, but now you are giving your heart and soul to Polissya - this glorious club, the entire Zhytomyr football team, and Ukrainian football in general, are very lucky to have such a powerful and systematic investor.
It is symbolic that today, on your birthday, Polissya has officially become the champion of the First League - and I am absolutely convinced that next season this team will show great results in the Premier League and will be a worthy representative of the elite of Ukrainian professional football.
Dear Gennadiy Vladyslavovych, I sincerely wish your team new high-profile achievements and accomplishments, and you personally - peace and prosperity, joy from small and big victories in football and business, and most importantly, the greatest and most important victory of our armed forces and the entire Ukrainian people in the struggle for freedom and territorial integrity!
Sincerely,
Hryhoriy Surkis
