Today, the capital of Ukraine celebrates its main holiday - the Day of the City's Foundation. For more than a millennium and a half, the glorious city has been standing on the banks of the Dnipro River. This year, Kyiv turns 1541.
This holiday is also special for Dynamo football club, as the famous club is considered one of the capital's business cards. This year, the Kyiv Day started for the fans of the White and Blues with a pleasant meeting with the club's legends and current players. This meeting was organised by FC Dynamo together with the club's loyal partners, the KLO petrol station chain.
The partnership between Dynamo and KLO has been going on for many years. KLO petrol station positions itself as a petrol station for Kyiv residents, and by Kyiv residents we mean all residents and visitors of the capital from all over Ukraine - from the western border to the eastern border, from the north to the south. The network has now expanded beyond the Kyiv region. The fruitful partnership between the club and the petrol station chain continues even now, in the difficult times of war that the capital and our entire country are experiencing. To distract from the daily horrors of war, a real holiday was organised for Dynamo fans on Kyiv Day.
Club legends Andrey Biba, Vladimir Muntian, Vladimir Bezsonov, Vladimir Onishchenko, as well as current players Denis Popov, Konstantin Vivcharenko and Bogdan Lednev came to meet them.
In a cosy, almost family-like atmosphere, the fans talked to the legendary players and current players and asked them various questions. The authors of the most interesting questions received gifts from the official Fan Shop of FC Dynamo Kyiv.
The meeting was attended by representatives of different generations of fans - from the very young, who paid more attention to the current players, to the long-time fans who took the opportunity to talk to those who forged the glory of Kyiv football. One of them even asked all those present a question: which of the players presented at the meeting had won the most championship titles. The fan himself answered this question, thanking Volodymyr Muntyan for his 7 championships. Andriy Biba was asked to recall the first championship of the Kyiv club, which broke the hegemony of Moscow teams in Soviet times.
Kostiantyn Vivcharenko and Bohdan Lednev were asked about the most memorable goals in their careers. Both mentioned their debut goals, Konstantin scoring against Shturm and Bohdan scoring against Lviv. Denys Popov was asked which players and teams were the most difficult for him to face on the pitch. The White and Blues centre-back mentioned Barcelona, Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo in particular. Denys was also asked which of his tattoos is the most special to him, and he replied that he got one in the shape of the World Cup in honour of his victory in the World Youth Championship to remember that day forever. Konstantin Vivcharenko admitted that he had great chances to link his professional career with another sport - swimming. The most amusing question from the younger generation was whether the audience liked Dynamo, to which the answer was obvious and unequivocal.
After the question-and-answer session, everyone was able to get autographs of the club's players and legends on specially made commemorative photos and take pictures with Dynamo stars. In total, the festive event lasted about three hours, including the break, and everyone received autographs, photos and gifts. And one lucky person received a full tank of fuel from the KLO network.
